We want everyone to be able to learn about the Eco-Herd, follow our projects, and reach us easily.

Our commitment

Goats in the City Inc. is committed to meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and to providing goods, services, and information in a way that respects dignity and independence.

This website

We build this site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target. Ongoing work includes:

  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful photographs.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate pages.
  • Keyboard access and visible focus states on links, buttons, and forms.
  • Colour contrast that meets AA thresholds for body text and controls.
  • Layouts that reflow on phones and tablets without horizontal scrolling.
  • Captioned or described video where the audio carries essential information.

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review pages as they are added or updated and correct issues as we find them.

Third-party content

Some pages link to news coverage, municipal project pages, and video hosted by other organizations. We do not control the accessibility of those sites. If a linked resource is not accessible to you, contact us and we will share the information in another format.

Alternate formats

We can provide information from this site, including project summaries and quotes, in large print, plain text, or by phone on request, at no additional cost.

Events and site visits

Grazing demonstrations and educational events take place outdoors on uneven ground. Terrain, parking, and viewing areas vary by site. Let us know your needs when booking and we will describe the conditions honestly and arrange accommodations where the site allows.

Feedback

If you encounter a barrier on this website or at one of our sites, please tell us. Include the page or location, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use, if any. Feedback can be sent by email, by phone, or through our contact form.

Tell us where we fall short: info@goatsinthecity.ca or 1-855-410-GOAT. We aim to respond within five business days.
