Care Comes Before the Work
Healthy prescribed grazing begins with healthy goats. Daily feeding, clean water, shelter, observation and responsible handling are part of every project. We assess the herd, the site and the conditions before grazing begins.
Daily Care
Fresh water, appropriate feed, minerals, shelter and regular observation are provided throughout each project.
Health Oversight
The herd is observed closely, individual concerns are addressed promptly, and veterinary support is used when needed.
Safe Containment
Portable electric mesh fencing helps create secure grazing areas and allows the herd to be moved as the work progresses.
Site Assessment
Vegetation, terrain, access, hazards, weather and public use are considered before goats are placed on a site.
Protection
Protection and Oversight
Livestock guardian dogs, Eco-Shepherd oversight and secure fencing work together to help protect the herd. The level of supervision and protection is matched to the site, project conditions and length of stay.
Practical Tools
Technology That Supports Good Care
We use practical tools to support planning, observation and accountability. Depending on the project, this may include site mapping, selected tracking tools, photo documentation and regular field checks. Technology supports the work, but it does not replace daily observation and experienced care.

Good handling is built on familiarity and trust. Time spent feeding, observing and working calmly with the herd helps the goats respond safely during transport, setup and movement between grazing areas.
Readiness
Transport and Project Readiness
Before travelling, the herd is prepared for the project and transport conditions are considered carefully. Arrival, unloading, water, shelter, fencing and settling time are managed as part of the project setup.
After the Project
Care Continues Beyond the Project
When the grazing work is complete, the goats return to the farm for continued feeding, observation, rest and seasonal care. Their wellbeing remains part of the work before, during and after every project.
